Global epidemic of childhood inactivity : Giving children good habits for life

We have all seen reports of the ‘Global epidemic’ of childhood inactivity. The target for children is 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per day and 80% of the world’s children are not reaching this target. The adult target is 30 minutes a day.

Why not think about ways you can exercise with your children or grandchildren so that as an adult you reach your daily target and help the children get into good habits?

It may be as simple as walking the last mile to school rather than driving them to the school gates or arranging a set time for a brisk walk or cycle?

As well as the obvious physical benefits to your heart, lungs, joints and weight, there will also be mental health benefits for the adults and children.
